FIONA POINTS TO SUCCESS OF THE TRAIN

Fiona Hall, Lib Dem MEP for Northumberland and Newcastle, has backed plans to expand the car park at Alnmouth Station, which is currently full to overflowing at certain times of the day.

Ms Hall has written to the Managing Director of Northern Rail pointing out that the lack of parking is putting off potential train users.

Fiona Hall said:

“It is great that rail services from Alnmouth are so well used. But the lack of parking is making it very difficult for train travellers, as well as inconveniencing neighbouring residents who find that rail users are having to park outside their homes.

“I have written to request details of the planned expansion of the car park and to urge Northern Rail to implement these plans as soon as possible.”
