Fiona Hall has signed up to do an environmental awareness course run by a Gateshead-based centre for excellence for environmental training.
The Environmental Academy is a leading provider of nationally-recognised qualifications aimed at boosting awareness about the environment. Courses are designed so that they fit easily around busy schedules. Study can be completed at a time to fit the leaner and can be done online over multiple sittings.
Anna-Lisa Kelso, Director of Learning at the Academy, welcomed Ms Hall to the course.
“We are delighted that Fiona Hall has chosen to study with us. We provide our Level 2 (NCFE) Environmental Awareness Certificate for Business and Industry free of charge to MPs and MEPs in an effort to encourage our elected representatives to continue their learning about the environment and climate change.
“Fiona, as Liberal Democrat Energy Spokesperson in Europe, is well positioned to learn lots from the course and I wish her the very best of luck!”
Commenting on the challenge ahead, Fiona Hall remarked:
“Climate change is the major issue of our time and I openly welcome the efforts of the Environmental Academy to raise the profile of the issue and to boost environmental education across the region and beyond.
“I have found the course to be superbly designed. It allows me to study for as little as 20 minutes at a time, which is ideal for busy people. The ‘Further Reading’ links that appear at every stage of the course mean that I can go at my own pace, extending modules as I wish.
“I would encourage everyone to log on and have a look for a course that might suit them.”
